My husband has been offered a job in penang (the island), but we don't know if the salary will be enough. How much does a house for a family of four generally cost to rent per month? .....a car? living expenses? Is there nursery schools for the children? Are there a lot of expats in Penang Island? As you can see we don't know much, so any info would be welcome. Thanks Donna

Thanks for your reply, the info is really helpful. My husband will be working in Bayan Lepas Idustrial park, but we're hoping not to live in an industrial park, maybe near a beach instead, but not too far away. We have two small children, so we would like a house if possible and space for a maid too. I look forward to hearing from you again soon.
