Moving from HK to KL

I'd like to ask whether anyone has experience of a HK-KL move and how much the average cost of lugging all your belongings this distance costs.

I'm wondering whether or not to take the whole contents of my flat in HK and want to have an idea of what may be considered profitably expendible before I ask the movers to come in and give me a quote.

Would really appreciate anyone's help on this. Thanks!!

What you really need to know is how much would it cost to furnish a flat all over again in KL v/s the cost of shipping

Just some advice:
It is very hard to buy used furniture here. Also not as organised as HK in terms of finding a man with a van. You may find some stuff if you are lucky but it may not be of your choice in terms of aesthetics.

New locally made furniture is available. A new bedroom would probably cost you about MYR 2000-2500

Also there is considerable leg work, wandering around from pillar to post looking for things within your budget and style. KL is spread out unlike HK.
