Looking for sperm donor
Posted by juliette (262 days ago)
Hello,
I am a Caucasian woman, good looks, good job, a stable life, but haven't found a man to start a family with. Only short term flings that didn't lead to marriage and family.
As my reproductive life is coming to an end (it's a matter of a few years) I have realised that the only way i can have the child i desire so much is through self-insemination, as local fertility clinics don't accept singles.
It seems that most donors are based in the US, Europe or Australia. I couldn't find any agency that lists local sperm donors.
Maybe there is an informal network i don't know of, maybe one that local lesbians use.
Any help would be very appreciated.

From your post you have obviously done your reasearch. Not sure what the problem is as it is obvious you need to travel to find your solution!!! Can't understand why you aren't or haven't done that!!!

Juliette,
You need to leave HK to get this done. I was lucky to be able to do it in HK as a single woman before they cracked down a couple of years ago. But I can't go for #2 in HK

i would like to resurrect this thread, to see if somebody has any suggestions for me.
My quest for a sperm donor is still ongoing.
If i cannot find anybody in HK, i am thinking of going to Spain or the Czech Republic, where clinics can perform IUI with donor sperm even if you are not married.
Sometimes i feel so frustrated...why should HK women invest so much time and money going to Europe or the US for fertility treatments? The HK legislation is so out of touch with people's needs.
I have a friend who cannot conceive and she was denied IVF because she is not married to her partner. They have been living together for 5 years. Why should the government interfere with people reproduction rights? If she didn't suffer from infertility she would have had children already, regardless of her marital status. In nature sperm and egg can meet without a marriage certificate. But in HK a doctor is not allowed to remove blocks that make it difficult or impossible for this natural process to happen, unless the sperm and the egg belong to a married couple.
The current legislation discriminate against those who suffer from a health condition. Because everybody else can get pregnant, even a 12 y/o.
