Hi, I've just been diagnosed with borderline Stage 4 endometriosis.
I'm just wondering if there's anyone else out there who's in the same boat and what treatments have been recommended to you.
Also, have anyone fallen pregnant successfully with endo?
I did my surgery in May and I'm on BCPs for 3 months before I'm allowed to try again. I'm also a bit worried because I still had bad cramps with my first period after my laparoscopic surgery.
I have been in a similar situation. I was diagnosed with endometriosis (i have no idea which stage) two years after my first child. I did surgery and decided not to take anything after it.
After almost one more year of trying ink. 6 attempts at IUI with Gonal F (Dr Ho) we now have an other beautiful healthy girl! I'm probably the happiest mother of two.
Just keep on trying. I'm sure you will also get there.
Good luck
Hi MayC
I have endometriosis and have a chocolate cyst as well. I went through a laparascopic operation a few years ago to have the cyst removed only to find that it returned about 6-8mths later.
I tried clomid for a few months with no success so then had a break. I saw a naturopath and acupunturist and fell pregnant a few months later with our first child. We are now trying to get pregnant for #2 (has been over a year) and I have just started to see Dr Ho who I think is great. I am about to begin injections for mild stimulation tomorrow but not sure if we will combine with IUI or not. Keep me posted on how you are going after the surgery. I remember that the first few periods were pretty painful but they get much better after that. Good luck!
I'm just wondering... what happened after you discovered a new cyst 6-8 months later after your surgery? Did you do another one or just let it be? I heard that clomid may increase the chance of getting cysts. Did you continue with clomid or other stimulations while you were doing acupuncture?
I agree that Dr Ho is very good albeit on the expensive side. For my treatment, I didn't start IUI until two unsuccessful natural intercourse with Clomid + injectibles. When they all failed, I was told to do a lap. Now I'm on my 2nd month post lap and it's been great. My first period was painful but my period after I started birth control pills were painfree! I'm on my second course of birth control pills which means I have 1.5 cycles to go before I start trying again.
I decided not to do anything about my cyst as I was sure it would only come back again. So I still have it today (has remained about 5cm's). The clomid didn't increase it that much - from memory it only grew a few cm's at the very most and then went down when I was pregnant. When I discussed whether I should have it removed with Dr Ho before starting the injections he also suggested to leave it. He said he thought that even it was removed the stimulation would probably only encourage it to come back anyway and that he has had several patients who have undergone stimulation with cysts without it being a problem. So I will let you know!
When I fell pregnant (with our first child) it was a few months after my last round of clomid (150mg) and we had just come back from holidays so I was very relaxed. I had been doing acupuncture every week and taking some herbs my naturopath had recommended.
I hope that helps, let me know if you need any other help!!
